Rasul Douglas, cornerback

Rookie defensive end Derek Barnett has received a lot of credi, but rookie cornerback Rasul Douglas has made a lot of noise in the secondary so far this Summer. The six-foot-two cornerback out of West Virginia has done nothing but impress his veteran teammates throughout OTA’s. This is a great sign considering how light the cornerback position is for the Eagles this season.

Although the Eagles have veterans such as Patrick Robinson, Ron Brooks and Jalen Mills, Douglas has a legit shot at starting on the outside come week one of the regular season. New Eagles receiver, Torrey Smith has praised Douglas for his play on the field. Smith said that he is physical, quick to learn and will be ready to compete at a high level earlier than everyone is expecting. This is great news coming from the veterans on the team. In the NFC East, there are a lot of solid, big bodied receivers who can make some ridiculous catches. Douglas could be the corner that is able to get physical to break up receptions.
