Barnett dominated in debut

The 14th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft from Tennessee was as advertised. And then some. Derek Barnett didn’t seemed phased by the transition from college to the NFL. Boy did it show!

Tennessee’s all-time sack leader accounted for two sacks and four tackles in his preseason debut. The rookie was flying around all over the field. When it came to the pass, Barnett was unstoppable causing tons of penetration. Whenever the Packers went to pass, it seemed as though Barnett had a good shot getting the sack every time. Packers left tackle Jason Spriggs had no answer for the rookie.

It may only be one preseason game, but Barnett is looking like an early favorite to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
