A plethora of young, talented cornerbacks leaves the Eagles with a rare situation, optionality in the secondary.

For the first time in a decade, the Philadelphia Eagles have a good problem on their hands at the cornerback position.

Over a decade and a half, multiple regimes have attempted to fix the issues at corner with big money free agents. That included (Nnamdi Asomugha and Byron Maxwell). Then, there were middle round draft picks (Curtis Marsh), and the famous “band aid” veterans (Bradley Fletcher, Cary Williams, and Leodis McKelvin).

Both executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman and vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas set out to fix the Eagles biggest roster weakness. It’s a position that hasn’t seen a ton of success since the days of Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard, and Asante Samuel. It appears this front office has attempted to build depth at the position with young, talented corners.

Continuing to build depth at cornerback could mean the Eagles may look to move 2017 third-round draft pick Rasul Douglas to safety down the road.
