3. Wentz makes one heck of a throw. Ertz makes one heck of a catch.

It seems like a mute point now, but if you dig a little deeper, it isn’t. It was the end of the first half against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles trailed by a score of 6-3. Most thought they’d be satisfied with that. They weren’t.

Wentz took a shot. He didn’t look for Alshon Jeffery. He didn’t force one to Torrey Smith. Instead, he cocked one back. let it go and the pass was deflected.

Then, the ball magically found its’ way into the waiting arms of Zach Ertz. It was one of the greatest examples of concentration that you’ll see.

That gave rookie kicker, Jake Elliott, a chance to tie the game before halftime. Elliott was unable to do so. The Eagles would eventually lose the game. As a result, Ertz’s catch isn’t talked about as much, but it’s moments like this one (and a long touchdown in Seattle a season ago that was called back due to a penalty) that show us how good Ertz is. It’s moments like these that show us Ertz is truly a go-to guy.
