Carson Wentz gets some love from Cardinals’ HC Bruce Arians
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz received some praise from the enemy this week.
The Philadelphia Eagles return home for the second time this season on Sunday. They will face-off against conference enemies, the Arizona Cardinals. Although these two teams don’t play each other often, they have a lot of history in head-to-head meetings, especially recently.
The last time the Cardinals came to town, the Eagles got destroyed 40-17 on Sunday Night Football. The Cardinals might come in with the same agenda, but the results should be different. Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians realize’s that this is not the same Eagles team from 2015, and he made that known on Wednesday.
With second-year quarterback Carson Wentz being the focal point of the Eagles offense, the opposing teams normally receive questions about him. Nothing was different this week when the media caught up with Arians. Just like any other opponent’s head coach, Arians had nothing but praise for the Eagles signal-caller.
Kind words from the enemy:
Great Comparisons?
Although Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been injured, his talent is widely known around the league as well above average. Being compared to a former first overall pick and three-time pro bowler is pretty awesome. The best praise that Wentz received from Arians though was his comparison to Ben Roethlisberger.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback might be close to the end of his career, but a comparison to Big Ben in his prime is a great honor. If there is one person who knows Roethlisberger well enough to compare him to somebody, its Bruce Arians. As you may know, Arians’ was on the Steelers coaching staff from 2004 to 2011. During that time they won two Super Bowls with Roethlisberger under center.

Arians’ long and well-known track record with great quarterbacks makes his endorsements for Wentz a lot more credible. The young quarterback will face a tough Arizona secondary on Sunday and will have another chance at proving that he can be an elite passer in the NFL.
