Believe it or not, the Philadelphia Eagles’ pre-Halloween tilt with the San Francisco 49ers is a statement game.

It must be tough to be an NFL head coach sometimes. You’re always trying to fire up professional athletes and convince them that every game is just as important as the last one. Take Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson for example. One minute you’ve got the Carolina Panthers in your sights, and the conversation is first place in the NFC. The next, you’re staring at the Washington Redskins, and you’re worried about losing your lead in the NFC East. Six days later, the opponent is an 0-7 San Francisco 49ers squad.

The problem becomes you have to convince your team that the next game is just as important as the other two were.

Here’s why that last statement is accurate. The Eagles can’t afford to lay an egg at home against a team that hasn’t won a game yet. If Philly’s truly a legitimate Super Bowl contender, these are the games you’re supposed to win.

For some insight on the 49ers, we, at Inside The Iggles enlisted our buddies at Niner Noise, Fansided’s site dedicated exclusively to the guys from San Francisco. The following is some of the result of that conversation.
