Philadelphia Eagles fans are still on an emotional high following a trade that added Jay Ajayi to one of the league’s most talented rosters.

Ladies and gentlemen, you can stop pinching yourselves. Jay Ajayi is the newest member of the Philadelphia Eagles, and all it cost them was the second of their three 2018 fourth-round draft selections. It’s a move no one saw coming, very few can explain and everyone can appreciate for its’ brilliance.

Prior to last March, Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman described his team’s backfield as one of the problem areas on the roster. Then, he went to work. He signed LeGarrette Blount to a one-year deal during the free agency period. Donnel Pumphrey was added during the draft. Corey Clement was signed as an undrafted free agent shortly after its’ conclusion. Kenjon Barner was re-signed after an injury to Darren Sproles. Then there was the Ajayi trade right before the deadline.

All of a sudden, the Eagles backfield is one of the best in the entire NFL. Sure, the jury’s still out on Pumphrey (more on that in a sec), but fans are excited, as they should be.

Here are a few notes on the move.
