Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller has a fan in the Philadelphia Eagles’ right tackle, Lane Johnson.

Does the thought of the Denver Broncos lining up Von Miller across from Halapoulivaati Vaitai just terrify anyone else? There have been quite a few constants in year two of Philadelphia Eagles second-year quarterback Carson Wentz‘s development. Unfortunately, a weekly beating at the hands of the opposing team’s blitz has been one of them. Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson and the rest of the offensive line have had their hands full all season long.

Week nine of the NFL season is upon us, and the Eagles have a date with the aforementioned Broncos at Lincoln Financial Field before they head off into their bye week. As usual, a war in the trenches will help decide the outcome. That could possibly mean we could see a game within the game as Miller and Johnson go at it.

That could also mean the Broncos could look to exploit some weaknesses along the Eagles offensive line. Who’s to say the Broncos don’t just move Miller over to where Vaitai is and try to attack from there? It seems to work whenever anyone else tries it.

From one all-pro to another:

Von Miller has the ability to wreck an offensive gameplan almost single-handedly. That’s a fact that’s lost on no one, especially Lane Johnson. When it comes to, arguably, the biggest star on the Broncos defense, it’s all love from the Eagles’ defensive tackle.

Here’s some of what Johnson had to say:

"Von Miller’s the best guy I’ve ever seen on tape as far as quick twists getting off the ball. There’s nobody I can compare to him so I’ve got my work cut out for me. He gets off the snap count, sometimes he’ll get offsides a little bit, so we’ll try and use that to our advantage. He’s a special player."

The entire Broncos defense is full of stars. When he speaks about the other ten guys the Eagles will be facing, Johnson is just as complimentary.

"The defensive line is really good at stopping the run. They’re just well rounded and they play hard. They’ve got really good linebackers, really good secondary, they play a lot of man coverage so they’re everything that they say they are."

We won’t have to wait much longer to figure out how this one plays out. The game is Sunday afternoon.
