1. Carson Wentz starts the season with a bomb to Nelson Agholor.

Picture this. The Eagles, disappointed in their offensive output from a season ago, look at their wide receivers, and they say it’s time to upgrade. They go out and snag Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith in free agency, and fans are excited.

Then the first touchdown pass is a result of Carson Wentz finding one of the guys that made Philly go out and get help in the first place. We had heard about Nelson Agholor turning the corner all off-season, and in game one, it became apparent that he had.

Take a look.

2. Jalen Mills gets his first NFL interception.

We can’t even discuss this game without mentioning the first pick of Jalen Mills‘ career. It came in the third quarter of what would be a tightly contested game all afternoon. Then, with the Washington Redskins already in field goal range, what could have been a go-ahead drive was halted by an interception that shifted momentum back to Philadelphia. It was this play that placed all of the “mo” back in the hands of the guys in the all-white jerseys and green helmets.

3. The Eagles defense scores a hat trick.

Say this with us. Just let the words sack, fumble, scoop and score all flow from your lips. The guarantee is that you won’t be able to do so without smiling. A long losing streak to the Redskins was officially over when Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox met each other at Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, forced a fumble and Cox rumbled in for the touchdown.

You also have to give Cox style points for the “Thriller” dance.

We’re just getting started ladies and gentlemen. Buckle up. Let’s have some fun.
