ITI: It’s been a long time since Chicago has had a bona fide franchise signal caller. Who is this Mitch Trubisky kid and can he officially take on that role?

Bear Goggles On: Funny enough, a lot of comparisons have been drawn between Mitch Trubisky and Carson Wentz. They’re both mobile, accurate and strong-armed.  Maybe it’s just wishful thinking, especially seeing how Wentz has blown up this season. Still, that’s what the Bears had in mind when they selected Trubisky with the second pick in the last draft.

Trubisky caught fan’s attention in his first preseason game when he showed a combination of mobility and accuracy that hadn’t been seen in this town in some time and certainly not with a high draft pick.  When Mike Glennon stumbled out of the gate in his first few games, the masses started calling for Trubisky.  He’s started six games. You can see that he’s still really raw and doesn’t have much to work with around him.

It remains to be seen whether Trubisky can be a franchise quarterback.  I can tell you one thing. As long as Ryan Pace is the GM, Trubisky will be given every opportunity to be the franchise quarterback.
