With the Philadelphia Eagles sustaining such a huge lead on the NFC East, the race for the division may be already coming to a close in Week 13.

The Philadelphia Eagles won fairly easily last Sunday as they delivered a whooping to the 3-8 Chicago Bears. The Eagles took care of business and then some, winning by a final score of 31-3. The victory comes in a wave of momentum that the Eagles are currently riding. They have solidified a league-leading nine-game winning streak with Week 12’s triumph.

As for the rest of the NFC East members, let’s just say that this season hasn’t exactly been all sunshine and rainbows.

The New York Giants have had a disaster of a 2017 campaign. The Washington Redskins have had their share of ups and downs but otherwise have been inconsistent. As for the Dallas Cowboys, they just seem to not be able to function without star running back, Ezekiel Elliott.

However, unlike the Giants, who were officially eliminated from playoff contention, the Cowboys and Redskins still have a slight chance. The two rivals face off with each other this Thursday in a game with major playoff implications. This game not only affects the Boys’ and the Skins’ but another NFC East team as well…

A game that every Eagles fan will be keeping their eyes on…

Eagles fans will be transformed into Redskins fans in a couple of days (as ugly as that sounds). The reason for this comes from the fact that if the Redskins come out victorious, the Eagles will officially be crowned NFC East Champions. Since the Birds’ have already swept the Redskins, they currently have the tie-breaker over them in the standings.

However, if “America’s Team” comes out victorious, it will put a halt to the Eagles party. The good news though, is that the Eagles still have a chance to clinch the division if they defeat the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. Clinching the division this early can take off some of the unwanted pressure on the team. Then, they would be able to focus on acquiring the number one seed in the NFC. The Eagles are off to a pretty good start in that category, as they are a perfect 10-0 in the conference.

If we forget about the Eagles for a second, this Thursday could feature a pretty good game. Two longtime rivals that are 5-6, battling to stay alive and salvage what is left of their season. The Redskins will also be looking for revenge from their 33-19 loss to the Cowboys back in Week 8. Buckle up Eagles fans, we could be in for an interesting ride for the rest of the 2017 season.
