If it’s one thing the Philadelphia Eagles know how to do, it’s beating the New York Giants, especially in New Jersey.

Once upon a time, the Philadelphia Eagles lost their starting quarterback. They would be forced to look to the backup for answers. They had talent at the wide receiver position. There was a gifted tight end and one of the talented young running backs in the league. As fate would have it, the rival New York Giants were their scheduled opponent for a Week 15 matchup at MetLife Stadium.

It’s funny how history repeats itself, isn’t it?

If you tuned out early, you missed one of the great games in Eagles history.

Okay, maybe the circumstances were a tad different. Kevin Kolb isn’t exactly Carson Wentz. Michael Vick sure isn’t Nick Foles. Still, if you’re one of those people that stuck it out after watching the Eagles fall into a 24-3 hole in the first half, you witnessed a classic. You’d learn later that the football gods were setting up one of the great finishes in NFL history.

Well, it was great if you’re an Eagles fan.

Whenever the Eagles and Giants meet, we all see clips or have memories of the highlight featuring Herm Edwards recovering Joe Pisarcik‘s fumble and running back for the winning score. If you’re younger, maybe you remember Brian Westbrook‘s punt return. If you think back to earlier in the 2017 season, you can still remember the adrenaline rush of seeing Jake Elliott‘s kick carry over the crossbar as time expired.

As great as all of those moments were, it was the game played on December 19th, 2010 that, arguably, stands out the most. The Eagles put up 28 fourth quarter points en route to what might be one of the most climactic moments in team history, DeSean Jackson‘s game-winning punt return as the game clock evaporated.

This one unfolded like a great story or a really good movie.

The next chapter in this great rivalry will be written on Sunday. It’s a safe bet that Eagles fans will be tuning in for that one.
