ITI: How far away is this team to catching up with the Cowboys and Giants? What needs t happen for this team to be relevant again?

Macysyn: Need I remind you that the Giants made the playoffs last season? That should be a cautionary tale about the nature of the NFL these days. From our viewpoint, the team has to improve its offensive line first and foremost.

In other places, there are significant pieces to build around though. Those are guys like the aforementioned Beckham, Janoris Jenkins, Damon Harrison, Olivier Vernon and Landon Collins.

Rookies like Evan Engram, Dalvin Tomlinson and Wayne Gallman have been promising. Former general manager Jerry Reese did a lousy job with his high draft picks, and overpaid for role players. If the team hires someone with a vision, a retool could get done quickly. But target 2019, not 2018, for significant progress.
