Not every win will be pretty for the Philadelphia Eagles. But yesterday’s victory was tough to watch.

After spending the majority of the season blowing teams out, the Philadelphia Eagles have found themselves in some tough situations lately. On Monday Night Football, the Eagles barely squeezed out a 19-10 victory over the Oakland Raiders. Although it was good to see the defense get back to their old ways, the offense gave us some reason’s to be concerned. We aren’t the only ones frustrated, though. Eagles receiver Alshon Jeffery did not seem so thrilled as well.

For a guy who is spotted smiling on the field most of the time, Jeffery looked quite frustrated on Monday. It’s pretty obvious to tell what he is angry about. Jeffery went the entire game without a single catch on Monday night. In fact, he was only targeted once, which resulted in a dropped pass.

The frustration from Jeffery is understandable. It is never ideal to see the number one receiver on the team targeted less than two times in a game. There could be plenty of reason’s why Jeffery went without a single catch all game. While the Philadelphia media was trying to investigate the issue, Jeffery will not be giving any answers anytime soon.

“I’m Good Boss”

What is the real issue?

Is there a bigger issue outside of the fact that Jeffery was only targeted once? It is hard to tell, but one thing is for sure, Nick Foles had a rough game. Coming off of a solid showing in New York, he was brought back down to reality on Monday with a rough looking 59.4 passer rating. Although Foles’ struggled on paper, it was clear to see that he has yet to build up a strong chemistry with his weapons in the passing game.

There were many plays left out on the field on Monday. ESPN’s Jon Gruden specifically pointed one out where Jeffery was wide open down the field for what would’ve been a touchdown. Instead of taking the shot to Jeffery, Foles threw the ball elsewhere without giving a single look at his main guy.

Next: Is there a roster dilemma brewing?

It was very clear that Foles’ is not totally comfortable with his guys just yet. This week’s goal for the Eagles offense should be getting Foles into a rhythm with Jeffery. After all, it took almost a half a season for Jeffery and Carson Wentz to form a solid on-field chemistry. Now Jeffery and Foles need to get on the same page if they want to make plays in the post-season.
