Nate Sudfeld, QB

When Foles wraps up his day on Sunday, we will get to finally see second-year veteran Nate Sudfeld take the field. The former Washington Redskins backup has joined the Eagles right before the start of the season. He spent half of the season on the practice squad and was eventually signed to the active roster when another team tried to sign him.

Considering Sudfeld has never played in a regular season game, nobody in Philadelphia is really familiar with the way he plays. This week he will finally be able to play in an Eagles uniform for the first time. Nobody really knows what to expect, but word coming from the Nova Care Complex is that Sudfeld has been fairly impressive.

It will be interesting to see what the Eagles have behind Foles as an emergency backup. If Sudfeld is impressive as advertised, then he could very well be Wentz’s backup when 2018 rolls around. Considering Foles current contract, the Eagles may have to cut him loose in the offseason to free up space. If all goes well for Sudfeld on Sunday, it can make that decision a little bit easier in the offseason.
