Two former Eagles were in attendance for the win over Atlanta

Former Philadelphia Eagles, LeSean McCoy, and Jeremy Maclin were at the Linc to watch the Birds win.

The city of Philadelphia has a strong love for its sports team. Whether it’s the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, or Flyers, the fans always seem to show unconditional love. But perhaps the coolest thing about Philadelphia athletes is their interest in the other sports teams that represent the city as well.

For example, many Eagles’ have been in attendance for Sixers games throughout this season. Not only do they make an appearance, but they genuinely have an interest in the team. On social media, many Eagles’ players take time to show love to other popular Philly athletes on a daily basis.

One thing that has been very different though, was the strong support from players that are no longer on the Eagles roster. Former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin haven’t seemed to lose much love for the Eagles since their departure. In fact, they were both in attendance at Lincoln Financial Field to watch the Eagles secure a spot to go to the NFC Championship!

It’s Shady in Philadelphia once again…

“Shady” McCoy seems to have found his love for the Eagles once again since 2015. After former Eagles head coach, Chip Kelly traded him away, he didn’t seem too fond of the organization as long as Chip was the guy in charge. Ever since his departure, Shady seems to have buried the hatchet with the Birds and is back to showing love for the midnight green.

As far as Maclin goes, nobody really knows what happened there. He chose to leave and reunite with former Eagles head coach Andy Reid after his successful 2014 season. Nobody truly knows what inspired his moves, but a dislike for Chip Kelly would be our best guess as to why he left.

His feelings towards the Eagles did not go away for too long, though. It was rumored that Maclin was actually really close to signing with the Eagles after he was cut during the 2017 offseason. But ultimately, he ended up signing with the Baltimore Ravens.

Now that both former Eagles’ favorites have joined AFC teams, they seem to have nothing wrong with cheering for the Eagles. Considering they are not even in the same conference of their own teams, it doesn’t seem like a big violation. On behalf of Eagles nation, former players are always welcome back to cheer for Philly. Especially if you gave it everything you got on the field while here.
