Ronald Darby spends some extra time with Brian Dawkins after practice
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby decided to put in overtime this week.
The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for yet, another make or break game this season. As they are currently just one win away from Super Bowl 52, the players are not taking any downs off. In fact, Doug Pederson had the team ramp up another full-padded practice with full contact to keep the intensity going.
For Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby, he decided that the couple hours of practice was not enough. He chose to stay after hours at the Nova Care Complex to get some reps with an Eagles legend. Former Eagles safety and 2018 NFL Hall of Fame finalist, Brian Dawkins chose to spend his afternoon training and teaching Darby.
While this is really cool to see for the fans, this is nothing new to the Eagles locker room. Back when Darby was acquired by the Eagles through a trade with the Buffalo Bills, Darby wanted to gain some instant knowledge from the legend. He would stay after practice during training camp in August to work with Dawkins on a hot summer day. Now with the NFC conference title on the line, Darby and Dawk are getting back to the basics leading up to Sunday.
Overtime for Darby:
Ready for Sunday….
Ronald Darby had a busy game last Saturday against the Atlanta Falcons. He finished out the game with seven tackles while being targeted for most of the game. It seems as though Darby has shown some weaknesses on film that makes him a target for quarterbacks to throw at. Little do they know, it is only a matter of time before Darby makes them pay for it.
Next: Two former Eagles were in attendance for the win over Atlanta
If there is one person who could get Darby right for Sunday, it’s Dawkins. Not only does he have a lot of playoff experience, but he knows what it takes to go out there and get an NFC Championship win. Everything about the 2017-2018 season has a strange similarity to the 2004 season when the Eagles went to the Super Bowl. Now Dawkins is doing everything he can to help the Eagles’ acheieve their ultimate goal.
