Chris Long to get Ken Flajole tattoo if Eagles win Super Bowl LII
Eagles defensive end Chris Long may be adding another tattoo if Philly wins the Super Bowl. It appears Ken Flajole will hold him to a friendly wager these two made quite some time ago.
When the Philadelphia Eagles acquired defensive end Chris Long on March 28th of 2017, it meant he’d be reunited with one of his former teammates with the Saint Louis Rams, quarterback Nick Foles. That’s been discussed, especially this week. What doesn’t get mentioned often is the fact that he was also reunited with one of his former coaches. Eagles linebackers coach Ken Flajole was once Long’s defensive coordinator in Saint Louis.
What’s funny is once upon a time, probably sometime around training camp, the two had a conversation. Recently, the subject of that conversation has become news.
Here’s Flajole’s description of the events.
"When Chris came (to Philadelphia), we were just talking, and I think it was probably training camp. I probably told him something to the extent of, ‘Hey, nothing would be better than to raise the Lombardi Trophy with you.’ and he said, ‘Hey, if we go to the Super Bowl and win, I’ll put a tattoo of your face on my body. I said, ‘OK, Chris, you better be careful now, because you never know how these things turn sometimes’."
You can probably already guess where this is going. To make long stories short, it doesn’t appear that Flajole is going let Long off easy.

If you don’t believe that, just look at what the Eagles linebackers coach had to say.
"I’m going to hold him to it. Now, if he wants to barter a little bit to get out of it, but I think he’s prepared to do it. I’m sure he’s going to put it in an inconspicuous spot where nobody’s gonna say, ‘Who is that guy?’. I said, ‘Chris, remember one thing, you’re going to be my age one day, and your kids are going to say, “Dad, who is that guy on your arm?” or wherever you put it.’ but he’s a man of his word, so we’ll have fun with it."
It’s just another in a long line of friendly wagers between coaches and players. There’s nothing like it. To be honest though, if you were able to talk to either guy, they’d tell you the same thing. This is less about the wager and more about the ultimate goal. The Eagles want to win the Super Bowl, and that’s all that they’re truly focused on.
We’ll worry about wagers and everything else later.
