Fletcher Cox, DT

There’s a first time for everything. For Fletcher Cox, it’s not only his first time playing in a Super Bowl. But apparently, it’s also his first time witnessing a Super Bowl. Whether that’s true or not, we know one thing. He is ready for this level of gameplay. Cox has been absolutely dominant up front for the postseason.

It may not show up in his number with 10 tackles and a sack, but other team’s know that Cox is a problem up front. Any media interview that involved the Patriots offense this week had to pinpoint that Cox is a monster among men in the trenches. It was very noticeable that if Cox is dominating up front, then the rest of the defense is eating.

The opportunities that open up when Cox is playing well is huge. Offensive lines may shift too much attention on him to the point where the Eagles surplus pass rushers start to show out tremendously. Since the Patriots have such a mediocre front, they could struggle throughout the game containing Cox and friends up front, which is huge for the Eagles secondary.
