Two former Philadelphia Eagles are part of the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This weekend just keeps getting even bigger for the Philadelphia Eagles. Two former NFL greats that once wore an Eagles jersey will forever be enshrined in Canton, Ohio. The home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Former safety and Eagles Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins and former wide receiver Terrell Owens will be inducted along with the 2018 class.

Last year, they were both finalists but would not get voted in. This year, they were once again finalists. But it was tough to tell whether either of them will get in or not. Fortunately for Eagles fans, both players will take the trip to Canton this summer for the official Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Big weekend for Philly…

Brian Dawkins being named a Hall of Famer is a huge win for the city of Philadelphia. After spending 16 seasons in the NFL, 13 of which were with the Eagles. Dawkins was named first-team All-Pro five times along with nine Pro-Bowl honors over the span of his career. Not only did he kill it on the stat sheet throughout his time in Philadelphia, but his energy and leadership made it easy to love him as a player.

As for Owens, he didn’t quite get the same exact love as Dawkins in Philadelphia. After two short seasons, he was on his way to play for the Eagles division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. Owens time in Philadelphia was cut short. But looking back on it, Owens made the 2004-2005 Super Bowl run season extremely memorable.

With everything going right for the Eagles so far this weekend, a Super Bowl win would be the icing on the cake. We are now less than 24 hours away from the big game and so far everything is going well for Philadelphia. No matter what happens on Sunday, though, knowing that Dawkins and Owens got their well-deserved recognition is still a plus.
