Philadelphia Eagles: 5 players that shined in Super Bowl LII
Corey Clement, RB
Let’s hear it one time for the hometown kid! The Glassboro, New Jersey native Corey Clement has had a feel-good story all throughout the season. After barely making the Eagles roster back in September, Clement has become a legitimate weapon for the Eagles offense. Although he is listed third on the depth chart when it comes to the backfield, he still comes in clutch when called upon.
Very clutch he was on Sunday night. Clement had a small portion of the backfields carries. Three rushing attempts for eight yards does not really do his night any justice. Instead, Doug Pederson decided to take a page out of the Patriots playbook and utilize throwing short passes out of the backfield and it paid off.
At the end of the game, Clement ended up leading the Eagles in receiving with 100 yards and a major touchdown catch that kept the Eagles in front. His average of 25 yards-per-catch is a pretty ridiculous stat to look at. All thanks to his lead blockers and wonderful ability to break tackles in the open field. The Eagles knew they had something in the undrafted kid from Wisconsin. But who would’ve thought he would come up this big in the Super Bowl?
