Trey Burton, TE

Trey Burton had a surprisingly solid season for the Eagles this year. Although he only had 248 yards, he still managed to find the end zone five times this year. Clearly, Burton would not start in the Eagles offense as long as Zach Ertz is on board. With Ertz being one of the NFL’s most dangerous receiving tight ends, Burton had to spend his time in Philadelphia living in his shadow.

Losing Burton could potentially hurt the Eagles offense considering how well he does when Ertz is out. But the flashes he has shown in the game where he filled in for Ertz have proven to the NFL that he can be a successful full-time tight end. There is a really good chance that Burton will reel in some offers from other teams as the market approaches.

The Eagles have one of their more difficult decisions to make with Burton. While they do have veteran Brent Celek on the team for another year, there is a legitimate chance of them cutting him to free up some more cap space for the offseason. Could they potentially get rid of Celek to pay Burton and some others? Or will Burton be sporting a new uniform in 2019? It’s tough to see that happening, but the guy may finally see his biggest payday.
