Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy will not tolerate any Nick Foles slander on Twitter.

It still feels like yesterday when Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Nick Foles was holding up the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The Super Bowl MVP has been the talk of the NFL ever since he put on two dominant performances on the biggest stages in football. Now with three playoff wins under his belt, Foles is starting to gain some interest from teams that are in the market for a quarterback.

While Foles’ accolades just kept piling on in 2017, some people still seem skeptical. Sure, Foles had a few bad games in 2017. He was also one of many failed quarterbacks in Jeff Fisher’s St.Louis/Los Angeles Rams franchise.

But with the right coach and right scheme, Foles has proven that he could be an excellent quarterback. During his first tenure with the Eagles, Foles played in 28 games where he threw for 46 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

Although he wasn’t seen as a starter beyond first three-year stretch in Philly. Foles has proved that he could be a solid backup when he was with the Kansas City Chiefs. That eventually got him a solid deal with the Eagles once again and the rest is history.

But even though Foles has proven to be a decent quarterback, there are still skeptics out there. NFL Senior Analyst Pete Prisco took to Twitter to voice his opinion on all of the Foles talk. He came to the conclusion that Foles is no more than a quarterback who had one nice season and decent three-game stretch. Well, former Indianapolis Colts’ head coach Tony Dungy was not having it.

Dungy to the rescue…

While Prisco could be right, Dungy made some valid points about Foles. Aside from the one season with the Rams, Foles has shown out with every opportunity he received. Back in 2013, Foles not only had his 27/2 season that featured a seven-touchdown game. But he capped off the historical year with a Pro Bowl appearance. He was named the MVP of the game.

The following season might not have been as pretty, but Foles still had the Eagles with a 5-2 record before going down with a season-ending collarbone injury. So Foles may not be the flashiest quarterback, but he is definitely a lot better than folks think. There is a really good chance that teams will be willing to take Foles off of the Eagles hands before the 2018 season. Whether Prisco believes they should or not.
