The reinvention of the Philadelphia Eagles will continue yet again.

They’ll be a lot of shuffling in the Philadelphia Eagles organization as familiar faces settle into new roles. Now, in addition to that, the franchise said goodbye to one of their mainstays. Chris Peduzzi, Philly’s head athletic trainer, announced on Tuesday that he would step down from his role with the team.

He had spent 19 seasons with the team after joining them in 1999 as an assistant athletic trainer and worked with three coaches. He had been the team’s head athletic trainer since 2013.

Here’s his official statement.

"It has been an honor and a blessing to be part of this organization for the past 19 seasons. I especially want to thank Mr. Lurie for his faith in me to care for the health of his players, and I never took that lightly. I also want to thank Coach Pederson and Howie Roseman for the opportunity. I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside so many great people, from my staff and co-workers to our coaches and of course the players. More than anything, I am going to miss those daily interactions. However, I do believe the time is right for me and for my family to step away and take some time off. This was not an easy decision, but one that I have put much thought into and I appreciate the organization’s support and wish them all the best in the future. I am so proud of what we have been able to achieve together. To bring the Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia this year was an amazing experience, and I believe we have built a strong foundation that the team can continue to build on for years to come."

Moving forward.

It didn’t take the Eagles long to respond as they stated “We thank Chris for his contributions over the last 19 seasons and we wish him and his family all the best.” Peduzzi is a native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania who graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in sports medicine and a M.A. in education. In addition to the role he served with the Eagles, he also worked with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1996-98), the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe (1997) and West Chester University (1998).

We at ITI wish him and his family the best.
