Nelson Agholor: The Slot

Nelson Agholor has finally exceeded expectations in 2017. He put up a similar stat line in comparison to his teammate, Alshon Jeffery. Agholor was responsible for 768 yards and eight touchdowns during the regular season. Just in case you couldn’t guess, Agholor had what you would call a career-year.

Did the Eagles still reach when selecting Agholor in the first-round of the 2015 Draft? Probably. But at this point, it doesn’t matter. The fact is that Agholor has proven to not only be a decent receiver for the Eagles, but he also has proven to be one of the most productive slot receivers in the NFL. Bleacher Report ranked Agholor as the eighth-best receiver in the slot from the 2017 season.

Now that the Eagles have a reliable weapon in the slot, their starting receiving core has weapons everywhere that makes it very difficult for defenses to keep up with. Heading into the final year of his contract, Agholor will be looking to take yet, another big step with his production. There’s no doubt that Agholor has the slot position all locked up for 2018 as he has become one of the most reliable weapons on the Eagles offense in 2018.
