While lacking depth at the linebacker position, the Philadelphia Eagles could look to add on some young talent.

It’s crunch time for the Philadelphia Eagles as they prepare for the 2018 NFL Draft. Sitting with very few early-round assets, the Eagles have a few options heading into next week. They can choose to dish out a player, and or their 32nd overall pick for more draft picks. Or the Eagles can take the best player available at the end of the first round and sit tight until day three.

Heading into the draft, the Eagles do not have any immediate needs on either side of the ball. Although help is always wanted anywhere, the Eagles are primarily on the search for player’s who are willing to sit back and learn from the veteran’s that play their respective position.

We all know though that the 16 game season can take a toll on these player’s bodies. And injuries are bound to happen. We saw it many times last season. One position that has taken perhaps the most prominent hit with injuries in 2017 was the linebacker position.

First, Jordan Hicks ended his season with a torn Achilles. Then, Joe Walker ended up suffering a stinger that kept him out for the playoff run. The late-season signing Dannell Ellerbe came into help when the Eagles were desperate, but he struggled to stay healthy as well when they needed him.

Going into the 2018 season, the Eagles need to start looking towards the future at the linebacker position. With Hicks injured often, and Mychal Kendricks potentially on his way out, the Eagles may want to consider drafting an impact linebacker this year. Howie Roseman, already many steps ahead of the game has done his homework on some guys. Who are the Eagles eyeing at the linebacker position in this year’s draft?
