Tegray Scales, LB, Indiana

Round 4, Pick 132

Indiana linebacker Tegray Scales may have flown under the Eagles radar a bit, but it is time to get familiar. The six-foot, 230-pound back enters into the NFL with plenty of work history from his days in the NCAA. Scales finished out his senior season with 89 total tackles, 12 of which were for losses. Add on two interceptions and six total sacks, and you got one workhorse at inside linebacker.

The linebacker position is clearly in need of help after the Eagles entered into depth desperation on their road to Super Bowl LII. With the uncertainty of Jordan Hicks’ health and the question mark behind new guys like Corey Nelson and Paul Worrilow, the Eagles need to start looking towards the future by drafting a linebacker this year.

Scales could be a decent student, and rotational piece when it comes to game time. Since his freshman year back in 2014, Scales contributed to his defense’s production with a limited role. As he does have some question marks around his size, his instincts and feel for the game will surely have the Eagles interested in the mid-rounds.
