The Philadelphia Eagles go with Dallas Goedert at pick 49 in the NFL Draft adding some depth to a tight end group that includes Zach Ertz and Richard Rogers.

Well, Dallas Goedert is, now, a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. When it was all said and done, ‘The Birds’ decided against making a selection at pick 32. Instead, they gave it to the Baltimore Ravens. In return, the received the 52nd pick. That deal also meant they’d receive the 125th pick in exchange for the 132nd as well as the Ravens second-round selection in 2019.

They weren’t done. On Day 2, they moved up three spots to 49. That gave the 52nd and 125th picks to the Indianapolis Colts. In the end, they got one of the guys they had their eyes on all along, Dallas Goedert, formerly of the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.

Philly makes a safe pick at 49, and the team seems happy.

Here’s the welcome from the Eagles official Twitter account:

Check out some of what NFL.com had to say in his draft profile:

"Goedert is a very talented pass catching tight end with the ability to work all three levels of the field. His ball focus and ability to make the spectacular catch will make him the darling of fans and media throughout the draft process, but, he still has work to do. Goedert dominated a lower level of competition and will have to prove he can uncover and block against bigger, more explosive athletes as a pro. The size, speed and talent is there for him to succeed as a very good combo tight end if he works and plays with a little more urgency."

NFL.com compares Goedert to a guy Eagles fans may be familiar with, Zach Ertz. It didn’t take long for some of his new teammates to show love.

Here’s one from Ertz himself:

The Eagles, and their players seem to be happy. If NFL.com is right in their comparison, it shouldn’t take long for fans to fall in love with him as well.
