Just like slot wide receiver Nelson Agholor, Doug Pederson gets his fifth-year option picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles.

A Super Bowl winning season means there will be plenty rewards given within the organization. The Philadelphia Eagles have been spreading the wealth to the team over the entirety of the offseason so far. A little over a month ago, Eagles starting left guard Stefen Wisniewski earned himself an incentive for his spectacular postseason play. Then, Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles was rewarded a revised contract with plenty of incentives. And let’s not forget, just the other day wide receiver Nelson Agholor got his fifth-year exercised after his stellar season.

Now, the Eagles are beginning to spread the wealth for their fearless leader and head coach, Doug Pederson. Despite wrapping up only his second year as the teams play-caller, the front office decided a Super Bowl victory was convincing enough to keep him around (obviously.) So now Pederson will remain the Eagles head coach through 2020.

Here to stay:

The Eagles wasted no time in picking up Pederson’s fifth-year option. After coaching the team to winning the first Super Bowl in franchise history, the decision to keep him around for longer was an obvious decision. Now, the Eagles will comfortably move forward with Pederson as the coach for the next three years, guaranteed.

Assuming that everything stays on course, Pederson is most-likely prepared to remain in Philadelphia for a fairly long time. It’s been a while since an Eagles head coach stuck around for over a decade. The last one to do so was Pederson’s mentor, Andy Reid. Let’s hope that Pederson can stick around for another ten years or so. Hopefully, the Pederson and Carson Wentz connection can become something similar to Brady-Belichick, just like Doug said.
