There’s no quarterback controversy in Philadelphia. The Eagles have a great situation with both Nick Foles and Carson Wentz in the fold.

Ladies and gentlemen, let’s kill the rumors. There is no quarterback controversy with the Philadelphia Eagles. When he’s healthy, Carson Wentz will return to the starting role. If he can’t go, the job belongs to Nick Foles. Both are the embodiment of the term ‘teammate’. If you take the jersey off of their backs, they’re pretty good friends as well.

That’s the word in Philly and around the Eagles’ organization. That’s always been the word. Can we stop looking for controversy where there isn’t any?

Carson Wentz joins NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.

On the first day of the work week on the calendar’s fifth month, Wentz joined the NFL Network‘s highly-popular Good Morning Football. They discussed hunting, being the hunted and Eagles rookie tight end Dallas Goedert. As expected, they also brought up the subject of Wentz’s relationship with Foles.

"I think Nick (with) and I, just from the outside world, you’d think there could be some potential ruffled feathers and different things going on, but the way Nick and I have handled just our relationship, the basis of our relationship is we’re friends first and foremost before we’re teammates. So, that’s made things so much easier to just root each other on and just have complete confidence in each other. We both know, kind of, where we’re at and what going forward is going to look like, so I’m really confident that there’ll be no issues with that. I love Nick, and we both understand kind of the nature of this business and the outset of this team and the future. So, we’re excited, and I’m excited he’s still here."

Let’s put the period on the end of that last sentence and move on.

Both of these great quarterbacks know the situation, and they’re both happy with where they are in their careers and their lives. Even as the defending Super Bowl champions, the best is yet to come in Philly.
