In case you haven’t heard the rumors, Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi is being sued.

Another day, another issue within the Philadelphia Eagles organization. Despite being Super Bowl champions, the Eagles have had quite the crazy offseason. A couple of months ago, newly acquired veteran Michael Bennett was accused of a handful of incidents from a year ago by the Houston Police Department.

Then, new but now former Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley got himself in trouble with the Philadelphia Police within a month of his arrival, which led to Worley getting cut almost immediately.

Now, Eagles running back Jay Ajayi has found himself in some legal trouble from a house party that happened just days after the Super Bowl LII victory. So as we all know, Ajayi spent the offseason traveling all over. In fact, hours after the Super Bowl victory, Ajayi and his teammate Corey Clement hopped on a plane to Los Angeles to show face on Jimmy Kimmel with the shiny Lombardi trophy.

Ajayi decided to stay out in L.A. for an extended period of time, because why not? So he and a friend decided to use the Airbnb app to find themselves a beautiful place to stay while out on the West Coast. Unfortunately, Ajayi ended up dealing with an owner who is being quite difficult.

What’s the story?

According to TMZ Sports, Ajayi is being charged for $25,000 in damages. Not only did Ajayi allegedly throw multiple parties when told not to, but he is also accused of pushing the owner in a heated confrontation. So as Eagles fans worry that Ajayi may have an assault charge coming his way, his reps reassure us all that they believe this situation is nothing more than a phony.

Here is a word from Ajayi’s reps, per TMZ Sports:

"A rep for Ajayi tells TMZ Sports the lawsuit is bogus … adamantly denying Jay ever physically pushed the owner of the home. They also deny Jay damaged the property in any way … or hosted any parties.Instead they claim the owner tried to get Jay and his friend to pay him cash directly — bypassing the Airbnb website — so they say they left the house several days early … but still paid the full rate."

That’s not all:

But wait, there’s more! Not only did Ajayi’s reps completely turn the tables on the owner, but Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Les Bowen got an inside scoop on the owner. Apparently, Ajayi’s accuser has quite the history of suing celebrities. And Jay Ajayi is not the only person to find himself in a lawsuit for the exact amount of $25,000.

So is this story by the owner all a phony? I guess we won’t truly know until this thing goes to court if it even does. But we do know one thing. This story sounds pretty fishy. Honestly, the Eagles have nothing to worry about. With the direction this story is going, this will all blow over in no time.

Next: Will the Eagles repeat their 2017 success?

For anyone who is worried about a possible suspension from the NFL for Ajayi’s alleged antics, don’t hold your breath. It looks like the situation is being handled and the Eagles have nothing to worry about. Considering the case was so close to the Super Bowl, the owner was probably a New England Patriots fan. That would make sense, right?
