More from Eagles News

The five-foot-six running back/ return specialist tore his ACL and broke his arm in a Week 3 matchup with the New York Giants. The Eagles went out and traded for Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi. He’d end up with most of the carries and, ultimately, help move LeGarrette Blount to short-yardage and third-down situations.

Since he arrived in Philly, Sproles has become a force to be reckoned with. He never put up huge numbers. He didn’t score often, but he often kept the chains moving.

The Sproles injury was a tough one on the Eagles, but they made the most of it. It forced them to make a move they, otherwise, wouldn’t have thought of, and their depth at running back helped the Eagles make a run in the playoffs and, ultimately, win the Super Bowl.
