What are we to make of Philly’s commitment to a long-term relationship with Jay Ajayi?

Who would have thought losing Darren Sproles early in the season could have led to a few monumental discoveries. The Eagles learned that they had a tremendous playmaker in Corey Clement. They also were able to land Jay Ajayi via trade. The latter is headed for free agency if a long-term deal isn’t reached.

In the meantime, he’ll, at least, be in Philadelphia for the 2018 season, and ESPN sees him as another of those guys who could be difference makers. Unfortunately for Ajayi, if Graziano is correct, he’ll fall into the category of trade bait.

Take a look:

"You always have to look at Philadelphia when you’re projecting potential trades. Let’s say Darren Sproles comes back from injury and makes a big contribution while Corey Clement continues to impress. The Eagles could find themselves with a surplus of quality running backs, and Ajayi could be on the move for the second trade deadline in a row. He’s scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end."

If Philly has no plans of bringing Ajayi back, trading him is, actually, a very good option. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
