Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz expected to crack the top ten for NFL’s Top 100 players list.

Oh, what a difference a year makes. Two seasons ago, Carson Wentz took his first snaps under center for the Philadelphia Eagles. After a shaky, but a promising rookie season, it seemed like the only way to go for Wentz was up. While the rest of the league had their eyes on Wentz’s fellow rookie rival, Dak Prescott, nobody outside of Philly expected Wentz perform like a Pro Bowler in his second season in the NFL.

Around this time last year, NFL Network was broadcasting its annual Top 100 list. While there are player power rankings by analysts and other networks all over, the difference with this list is that the players mostly dictate it. The Eagles came up a bit short last season, as only a few of their guys made the list. Unfortunately, their promising young quarterback was not one of them.

Wentz displayed a ton of upside in 2016. But he didn’t stand out enough to his peers to crack the Top 100. In fact, he found himself quite low on the list. And not too long after the top ten was announced, the rest of the rankings made its way out to the public. That’s when the Eagles fanbase exploded with disappointment. Everyone found out that Wentz was sitting low at 171 on the list.

New Year, New Rank:

The NFL’s 2018 Top 100 is getting ready to wrap up. Over the last month or so, we have seen a few Eagles find themselves on the list. Malcolm Jenkins, Lane Johnson, Fletcher Cox, and Zach Ertz all made an appearance on the list. Once again, there’s no sight of Wentz as the top-ten is set to be announced sometime next week. Except for this time around, Wentz is expected to crack the NFL’s top-ten. Instead of finding himself close to the 200th slot.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, considering the massive step forward that Wentz took in 2017. Although he couldn’t contribute to the Eagles postseason success, we’re unsure that the Eagles would’ve locked in the NFC East and the number one seed in the conference without his contributions.

Next: Eagles will be a powerhouse on Madden 19

Although Wentz went out with a knee injury, he still left the 2017 season on a high note. He led the NFL with 33 touchdown passes, which was only surpassed by Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson during Week 17. So to add onto Wentz’s 2017 accomplishments where he was named a Pro Bowler and a Second-Team All-Pro, Wentz is expected to show face on the NFL’s Top 100 list of 2018. The only question is, where will he end up?
