Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is keeping himself busy this offseason.

It almost feels like the Philadelphia Eagles are one big network of charitable foundations. Aside from the team’s large entity, several players have their own off-field non-profit companies as well. Some of the popular ones include the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, The Chris Long Foundation, and Carson Wentz’s AO1 Foundation. Now, Zach Ertz and his wife, Julie plan to launch the Ertz Family Foundation.

Zach and Julie Ertz have become quite popular over the past year. Being that they both play professional sports, they have gained quite a bit of fame over the years. In 2017 though, the NFL world has become very familiar with the soccer star after she lit up with joy after finding out that Zach and the Eagles were headed to Super Bowl LII. After everybody saw Zach Ertz’s reaction of a reaction, the football world became very intrigued with the star couple.

Now, the Ertz Family Foundation will make good with their popularity and platform. As we all know, Ertz has joined his quarterback Wentz in the past with mission trips to other countries. But now he wants to get his wife involved so they could help people in need. Just like they dreamed of back in college.

The Ertz Family Foundation:

On a mission:

Zach Ertz credits the trip that he took Haiti last offseason as the reason why he decided to move forward with launching his non-profit. After seeing what things were like outside of America, Ertz knew that he wanted to do everything that he could to help those who are less fortunate outside of America.

"“People down there have nothing compared to us when it comes to material items,” he said. “But they found so much joy in their community. It was powerful to me. I fell in love with the types of people I found there, and their perspective on life.”When Zach returned to America, he shared his experiences with Julie. She saw the way that Zach’s trip to Haiti had impacted him, and knew that the time to launch the foundation had come."

You can visit the Ertz Family Foundation site and make a donation for their future missions. Hopefully, Ertz and the rest of his teammates on the Eagles have great success with their non-profits, and it inspires more athletes to launch their own foundations in the future. It’s always good to see professional athletes making good with their platforms.
