Former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo doesn’t think the Philadelphia Eagles can handle success. How does Doug Pederson feel about that?

Just a few days ago, the Philadelphia Eagles added another hater to the list. This time it was New York Giants former head coach Ben McAdoo. Recently, McAdoo caught up with the media for the first time since being fired, and he was quite brutally honest with his opinions. Since McAdoo seems to have no hard feelings towards his old team, he remains against the Eagles.

In case you missed it, the former head coach told the New York Post that he believes the Giants can and will win the NFC East after the changes they have made this past offseason. So in the process of speaking about the Giants winning the division, he threw some individual shots towards the three other teams. “I think Philly, how much success has Philly had? I think they’re gonna have a hard time handling success.”

So what? This isn’t the first time we have heard the Eagles will be one-year wonders. In fact, other major platforms are saying the Eagles won’t even make the playoffs in 2018. While none of this has really got a reaction out of the players, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has shared his two cents on the quotes from McAdoo.

What does Doug think?

Doug Pederson sat down with Philly Sports Talk on NBC Sports Philadelphia on Friday where he discussed McAdoo’s comments. He didn’t exactly give you a Jason Kelce WWE style promo response. But his reaction was very calm and understandable. Basically, Pederson assures the fans that McAdoo’s ‘concerns’ aren’t uncalled for, but the assumption that he made was wrong. Here are Pederson’s exact quotes, according to Eagles Wire’s Turron Davenport.

"“I think there’s a point there…complacency can set in. You can skip an OTA, you can maybe skip a workout or whatever,” Pederson explained on Friday. “But what I saw from our players was not that. Our players showed up for OTAs, they spent time getting themselves ready.”"

Sure, a Super Bowl can get to the heads of select players. But by the sound of it, this Eagles team is striving for greatness beyond one historic season. We heard countless times last year by the Eagles coaching staff and player’s that they want to be the next dynasty in the NFL. So, why would they let their foot off of the gas now?

Next: Finally, we have a training camp schedule

Considering that the Eagles have lost many key player’s to injuries last season, there’s a good chance that those guys are ready to come back harder than ever. The doubt towards the Eagles only made them stronger last season. So with the hate continuously being thrown at the Eagles this offseason, they will just remain even more motivated to repeat in 2018.
