After speculating that Carson Wentz will land on the PUP list, it turns out that he will practice this offseason.

There’s no time for breaks on the road to greatness. That must be what Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz is thinking as he works to come back from a torn ACL and LCL. The 2017 MVP candidate hit a significant speed bump when he went down with a knee injury last season hours before the Eagles clinched the NFC East.

The sight of Wentz walking off the field in the third quarter gave the city of Philadelphia high hopes for a playoff return. Unfortunately, Wentz’s North Dakota toughness could not prevent him from landing on the injured reserve in 2017.

Last December, nobody knew what to expect from Wentz when the OTAs portion of the offseason began. Many believed that Wentz would be nothing more than a spectator at practice. To our surprise, Wentz ended up taking the field and looking like he hasn’t missed a single snap since his final play, back in the winter time.

Many expect Wentz to miss a few games to kick off 2018 potentially, but the third-year veteran has his mindset towards starting week one. We are all aware that Wentz’ rehab has been going along smoothly, but at this point, he just might be ahead of schedule.

Wentz avoids the PUP:

The Eagles checked into the Nova Care Complex Wednesday morning to report for camp, which begins Thursday. The big story around the NFL was whether Wentz would head to the PUP or not. The rumor was that Wentz would most likely land on the list. While nobody was shocked, there was some disappointment as it indicated a potential set back for Wentz.

Sure enough, though, Wentz will not sit back and relax. The Eagles have officially decided that Wentz can take part in team activities on a limited basis. This move also reveals the realistic chance of Wentz coming back by week one.

We already know that he will avoid playing in the preseason, but knowing that he will participate in camp to stay sharp and in shape makes the road to returning a lot more realistic for Wentz. Only time will tell if he will honestly be ready, but so far he is making some tremendous progress as the regular season inches closer.
