It’s official. He’s in, and one of the most beloved Philadelphia Eagles of all time, Brian Dawkins, delivered one of the best speeches heard on any platform.

What a day it was, a day most won’t soon forget, especially if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Philly sports legend Brian Dawkins was finally inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame exactly six months after ‘The Birds’ won their first-ever Super Bowl.

The day was filled with an outpouring of emotion as there were parades, photographs and, of course, an epic speech by ‘Number 20’ as Eagles fans from all over converged on Canton, Ohio to show support for one of their own.

Take a look at some of the highlights:

Try not to fight back tears (or run through a wall).

It is almost impossible to find any Eagles fan who doesn’t love ‘Dawk’. Heck, it seems like it’s impossible to find an Eagles fan who wasn’t in Canton on August 4th. To some, ‘Weapon X’ is their favorite player of all time, and what made him so beloved in Philly was all on display Saturday night.

For a little over 20 minutes, ‘Dawk’ showed his humility, passion, faith, gratitude, transparency and, yes, his love for his wife, Connie.

One Saturday, ‘Dawk’ made us laugh, and he came this close to making us cry. He fired us up, and dog gone near preached a sermon. He was thankful, inspiring and every bit as emotional as he was for the 13 seasons that he ran around in a midnight green jersey and the three seasons that he served as an executive of football operations for player development.

You didn’t think we’d talk about it and not show you did you? Here’s his speech in its’ entirety:

Eagles fans will always love ‘Weapon X’, and now, football fans will forever be able to see his bust, which is permanently in Canton, Ohio.

And yes, thanks to being an executive and a game that was played on February 4th, a game that some of you may have seen, he also has his Super Bowl ring. 2018’s been a good year, hasn’t it?
