8. Kamu Grugier-Hill gets a leg up on the battle

Eagles outside linebacker and special teamer Kamu Grugier-Hill initiated a weakside linebacker battle this preseason between himself, Nathan Gerry, and Corey Nelson. So far, it’s been close between Gerry and Grugier-Hill, but game one says that Kamu has the upper leg. He led the Eagles defense with six total tackles on Thursday. This battle is far from over, but so far the stats say that Grugier-Hill has the advantage.

9. Josh Adams gets off to a solid start.

Speaking of getting a leg up on a battle, Eagles undrafted rookie running back Josh Adams starts off his NFL preseason career with a strong start. Many assume that out of Wendell Smallwood, Adams, and Pumphrey, only one guy gets in. Considering that Pumphrey missed time on Thursday, and Adams ran for more yards than Smallwood on the same amount of carries with weaker blocking, we’d say that Adams has made a solid argument for why he belongs over the other guys.

10. Isaac Seumalo’s days are numbered.

Offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo could go down as one of the most frustrating players from the Eagles 2017 season. He won over the starting spot at left guard last September, but quickly found himself on the bench after two poor performances up front. This season, Seumalo was moved to the center position, which apparently has suited him best in the past.

As expected, Seumalo was off to a rough start on Thursday. Snapping the ball over the quarterback’s head once is never a good look. But when you do it every day at practice as well, your days officially become numbered. Seeing how Seumalo’s first game at center went as a whole, he could find himself cut sooner than later this offseason.
