2. This is bad news for Callahan and Sudfeld.

In the minds of many, there were few scenarios that allowed for Joe Callahan to make the Eagles roster. Now, even those scenarios seem to be evaporating. We had all penciled Sudfeld in as ‘QB3’ a while ago. Had someone stated that he’d enter the first Eagles preseason game and throw two touchdowns and two picks, most would say that’s a pretty fair assessment of where they believed him to be in his development.

Is it unfair to say Hackenberg could leap over Sudfeld on the depth chart? It isn’t so ridiculous now, is it? Okay, maybe it is. This guy’s been horrendous.

3. Remember when Wentz was drafted?

Think back to 2016. Wentz wasn’t seen by everybody as the ‘slam dunk’ that he turned out to be. There were even thoughts that went something like this:

The Eagles won’t compete for a Super Bowl in 2016. There are holes everywhere. Would it be fair to say taking two quarterbacks would be a smart move? That would give Philly some insurance if Wentz doesn’t work out. Remember who some were saying that second quarterback ought to be?

You guessed it! It was the guy from Penn State. The coaches had seen a lot of film on him, and they’ve, no doubt, been watching him ever since.
