Rasul Douglas, CB

Last year, many fans called for the benching of Ronald Darby and preferred Rasul Douglas to start over the veteran. Clearly, Jim Schwartz and the Eagles coaching staff knew that Douglas was prone to letting up big plays, and we caught on to that last week. Douglas earned some snaps early on and got Moss’d by Juju Smith-Schuster on a 50/50 ball.

Assuming that Douglas would take that as a learning experience against starters, we couldn’t have guessed that the second-year corner would get toasted once again for a second touchdown that he was responsible for giving up.

So, he gave up two touchdowns in the preseason, big deal. This week, Douglas will be put to the test, and we will see if he can learn from his mistakes and remain consistent in coverage. It’s quite evident that he won’t win a starting spot on the defense, but the Eagles still have high hopes for the young defensive back.
