Philadelphia Eagles roundup: Rodney McLeod’s clothing store, Shelton Gibson
Philadelphia Eagles safety Rodney McLeod invited fans to his clothing store, Back of House, while his teammate, Shelton Gibson got familiar with the media recently. It’s all here on ‘The Roundup’.
Watching Shelton Gibson turn the corner has been fun to watch. More on that in a second. First, let’s talk about the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles may, indeed, have the two best dressed safeties in the entire NFL. Rodney McLeod and Malcolm Jenkins aren’t just ‘beasts’ on the field. One could argue that they could tear up a runway or two.
Just think back to last season when Mr. Jenkins and his lovely wife took a few flicks at the ESPYs. McLeod’s no slouch either. These two may wear matching outfits during the regular season, but their styles are totally opposite to one another when they’re off of the gridiron and enjoying their social lives.
Jenkins is the proud owner of his own clothing store, Damari Savile. His entrepreneurial spirit is shared by his counterpart on the field of play. McLeod let fans into his personal life a little recently when he invited cameras into his own store, Back of House.
Watch and learn friends. You may pick up an idea or two.

Well done Mr. McLeod. Well done.
Let’s talk about Shelton Gibson for a second or two.
“It’s good for him. It’s certainly good for his confidence…. If he continues to work on the things that we’ve asked him to, it’ll continue to show up in the games.”
Those were the words of Mike Groh, the Eagles offensive coordinator, when asked about the development of second-year wide receiver Shelton Gibson. The former West Virginia standout struggled this time last season, and as a result, spent a ton of time on Philly’s practice squad.
One year later, he’s turned the corner, he’s catching bombs, and he has the confidence of his coaches and signal callers. More importantly, he’s found, as Groh mentioned, some much-needed confidence in himself. Recently, he discussed the chemistry he has with Nate Sudfeld, among other things.
Take a look:

Unlike McLeod, if Gibson’s making Philly’s roster, it’s going to take some doing. Alshon Jeffery, Mike Wallace, Nelson Agholor and Mack Hollins are all almost assured of a roster spot.
That leaves Gibson in a battle for what may be one more spot (two at the most), and if he’s in, that means he would have beaten out Darius Prince, DeAndre Carter, Kamar Aiken, Tim Wilson, Anthony Mahoungou, Markus Wheaton, Greg Ward, Bryce Treggs, and Rashard Davis.
That definitely isn’t going to fall into the category of ‘small tasks’. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
