The Philadelphia Eagles cut Stephen Roberts, and head coach Doug Pederson makes an appearance on The Herd. It’s all here in ‘The Roundup’.

For Stephen Roberts, the dream of making an NFL roster may be over. More on that in a second, but first, let’s talk about the Philadelphia Eagles‘ head coach Doug Pederson and a recent appearance he made on The Herd.

Shortly after the Eagles won Super Bowl LII (saying that never gets old), Doug Pederson said something that a lot of people missed. He said he wasn’t going to be available for every appearance and interview.

Why? It’s quite simple.

Pederson, now a Super Bowl-winning head coach, understands what it takes to get his team to the mountaintop. If the ‘new norm’ that he talked about during Philly’s victory parade is to be accomplished, he acknowledged that he can’t make every appearance and do every interview. There’s work to be done.

With that being said, Eagles fans will have to be satisfied with an occasional appearance here and there, like the one he made on FS1’s The Herd. He joined Colin Cowherd via the Cowherd Global Network.

Take a look:

He also sat down to speak with a few other notable names, including the guys (and gal) over at ESPN’s Get Up. Here’s a look at that one if you missed it:

Hey coach! Don’t work too hard. You have to take a day off sometimes.

Stephen Roberts is released.

As of August 25th, a little over 12 days remain until the Eagles take on the Atlanta Falcons on September 6th for opening night of the NFL schedule. Needless to say, everyone on the current roster can’t be carried into the 2018 regular season.

Expect a ton of cuts to come in the coming week. On Saturday, shortly after lunch, one of the members of the secondary, safety Stephen Roberts, got his pink slip.

This one shouldn’t come as a surprise. Roberts went undrafted and got signed as a free agent, but with Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod being assured of roster spots and, with the re-signing of Corey Graham and the emergence of Tre Sullivan, Philly may already be set at safety.

Let’s hope Roberts finds an opportunity elsewhere. Philly’s roster is, currently at 89 players and they’ll need to trim another 36 here soon. We’ll all be watching closely.
