Everybody isn’t quite healthy yet, but the Philadelphia Eagles got Nelson Agholor back on the practice field Sunday (and that’s a good thing).

With one game remaining on the preseason schedule, the Philadelphia Eagles are hoping they can continue to get healthy. On Sunday, they took a step in the right direction. They got their starting slot receiver, Nelson Agholor, back.

That’s a good thing. As a matter of fact, that’s a very good thing.

Let’s examine Philly’s depth chart at wide receiver.

A few short weeks ago, it appeared as though the Eagles had an embarrassment of riches at the wide receiver position. Then, we watched them take the field without quite a few of their most important offensive cogs on offense. Things came into focus relatively quickly.

What have we learned? Well, some of it can be chalked up to things we already knew. Kamar Aiken, DeAndre Carter and Anthony Mahoungou aren’t making this team. Greg Ward, Bryce Treggs and Rashard Davis probably aren’t either. Markus Wheaton‘s still dealing with issues with his hamstring, and that may hamper his ability to get on the roster.

Then, we learned some things we didn’t know. For instance, there was the news that Mack Hollins had offseason surgery, and Shelton Gibson was a whole lot better than we thought he was.

Even with all of that being said, Alshon Jeffery still isn’t one-hundred percent. Mike Wallace is, indeed, an upgrade from Torrey Smith, but, at best, he’s a number-two receiver. The aforementioned Bryce Treggs and Greg Ward may find their way to the practice squad, but that that’s no guarantee.

Thank goodness for a healthy Agholor. Who would have thought, two years ago, that we’d be saying that now? On Sunday, Philly’s slot receiver was back at practice.

Take a look:

What now?

The Eagles figure to rest their starters on Thursday. Most are ready to go, and there’s no reason to risk further injury in a game with no meaning or actual importance. Agholor and the rest of his compadres are looking to get on the field on September 6th for opening night in the NFL.

First thing’s first though. There’s a game on Thursday versus the New York Jets, and once we get through that one (hopefully with minimal or no injuries), we can begin focusing on Week 1 of the regular season.
