Which Philadelphia Eagles players need to step up in order to secure a victory in Thursday nights opener?

We’re now one day away from the NFL’s official kick-off to the 2018 season. Typically, the Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for a Sunday afternoon kickoff to start to kickstart their season. Due to being the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Eagles become one of two teams to open up the season. This week, the Atlanta Falcons will come back to Lincoln Financial Field for a divisional round rematch against the Eagles.

It’s evident that the Falcons are looking for revenge. They were coming off of a big win as underdogs on the road in the Wild Card round against the Los Angeles Rams last winter and almost pulled out another victory on the road the following week. As most of the league knows, it’s not easy to win at the Linc though, and the Eagles put a stop to the Falcons late-game drive to secure a spot in the NFC Championship game.

This week’s game doesn’t have as much on the line, but both teams are out to prove something. The Eagles will reveal their first Super Bowl banner just minutes before kickoff. Although this isn’t a must-win situation, it is a statement game for the Super Bowl Champions. The Eagles are out to prove that they aren’t going to let major success go to their heads. To do that, these five players need to put on a show, so they secure the week one victory.
