The Philadelphia Eagles tweak their roster, and Jeffrey Lurie celebrates a birthday. It’s all here on ‘The Roundup’.

Birthdays and NFL seasons are alike in the fact that, in terms of the former, they seem to come around more quickly as you get older. In terms of the latter, 17 weeks doesn’t seem to be as long as it once was. The 2018 season is underway in the NFL, and just two days after the Philadelphia Eagles‘ first victory of the season, the team’s chairman and CEO, Jeffrey Lurie, celebrated his 67th birthday.

The celebration continues in Philly.

Here’s to the NFL’s best owner.

The Eagles have seen their most successful moments in the current NFL under Lurie’s leadership. Under three head coaches, they’ve reached six NFC Championship Games and two Super Bowls (the second resulted in the first Lombardi Trophy in team history).

Lurie purchased the Eagles from Norman Braman on May 6th of 1994 for $195 million. His team is now worth $2.65 billion according to Forbes, which places them at 10th among the current NFL franchises in terms of value.

Not a bad job at all.

Philly tweaks the roster a tad.

For those of you looking for a little team news, here it is. The Eagles made a rather expected move by adding linebacker Nigel Bradham and safety Deiondre’ Hall to the active roster. As a result Tre Sullivan‘s been waived. There’s been no word as to whether or not Sullivan‘s inability to stay away from the ball on punt returns had anything to do with the decision.

In addition to that, defensive tackle Treyvon Hester has been added to the practice squad, and wide receiver Greg Ward, wide receiver Rashard Davis and defensive tackle Winston Craig have been removed from the practice squad.

For Week 2, the Eagles travel to Tampa to take on the Buccaneers. Don’t blink. That game will be here before you know it.
