It looks like the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t entirely satisfied with the current state of their wide receivers.

Before the 2018 NFL season kicked off, the Philadelphia Eagles had a few problems. The main issue this offseason being the long list of injuries that occurred since the end of last season. They knew heading into week one that they wouldn’t be fully healthy, but they still expect to be a competitive football team. Although the Eagles pulled off a big win this past Thursday against the Atlanta Falcons, it’s evident that some temporary holes need patching over these next few weeks.

Aside from the apparent absence of Carson Wentz, the Eagles are weak in talent and depth elsewhere on the offense. With Alshon Jeffery out of the picture for at least a few more weeks along with Mack Hollins out for a while, the top receivers are Mike Wallace, Nelson Agholor, DeAndre Carter, and Shelton Gibson. On paper, the unit looks weak. On film, the group seems lost.

Aside from Agholor’s eight catches for a lousy 33-yards, the Eagles do not have a ton to be confident in when it comes to the passing game. Now, we can give Wallace a pass for the few underthrown deep balls from Nick Foles last week, but there is only so much we can pin on the quarterback. As always, the Eagles front office and coaching staff are on the hunt to make the team even better. So, as they prepare for their second game of the regular season, they just might be bringing in a new set of hands for the offense to work with.

The Eagles are on the lookout:

Howie Roseman and the front office kept busy on Monday morning as the team reached out to a few agents to schedule some workouts. First, the Eagles planned a workout with former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman. Then, they also added another former Ravens’ receiver into the mix by bringing Kamar Aiken back for another tryout. Aiken spent some of the offseason with the Eagles but was highly disappointing when the preseason came around.

Also, the Eagles plan on working out former Cleveland Browns receiver, Corey Coleman. The former first-round pick was traded to the Buffalo Bills during training camp, but couldn’t quite pick up the offense quick enough. Now, the 24-year-old receiver adds the Eagles to a growing list of teams that are interested in the young wideout’s services.

In case you were wondering, the Eagles have not reached out to former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant yet. Some speculated that he could be a good addition with Jeffery out, but it doesn’t seem like the Eagles are interested in bringing in the former Cowboys’ wideout at all. A signing is not guaranteed at the moment. But with all of the workouts occurring this week, we can most likely expect to see a new addition to the wide receiver corps within the next day or two.
