Who would’ve thought the Philadelphia Eagles would have a tough matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week?

The first week of the NFL is always shocking in many ways. Even though we watched four weeks of meaningless football to get an idea of who is good and who is not, we still witness a ton of surprises when the season kicks off. This past weekend, everybody involved with the Philadelphia Eagles had the chance to sit back and enjoy a stress-free NFL Sunday (unless you bet) knowing that the defending Super Bowl champs are 1-0.

This weekend, the Eagles will come back from a ten-day break to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium for the first time since 2013. Before the offseason even began, we were fully aware that the Bucs would face off against the Eagles without their franchise starting quarterback, Jameis Winston. Although many fans were confident that the Eagles could take care of the Bucs no matter who is in at QB, not many people realized that the Buccaneers would head into their home opener on fire.

The Ryan Fitzpatrick-led Buccaneers offense dropped 48-points in the Super Dome against the New Orleans Saints defense this past Sunday. Although it ended up being a one-possession game in the end, it was evident that the Bucs were superior that day.

Now, the Eagles week two matchup doesn’t look like much of a walk in the park considering that they may have to rely on their defense to snag them another win. So, as we originally anticipated an easy matchup against the Bucs backup, do the Eagles actually have a tougher matchup brewing with Winston out of the picture for Sunday afternoon? Let’s talk about it.
