It’s probably safe to say, at this point, that Philadelphia Eagles fans are never going to develop a soft spot for Cris Collinsworth.

Welp…. Cris Collinsworth is back at it again. Here’s a fair warning. If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, and you’ve already grown tired of the name, this article will probably go a long way in deepening your disdain or having you write the guy off altogether.

For the uninformed, Collinsworth has quite the football resume, being a former NFL wide receiver and a sportscaster for NBC, Showtime and the NFL Network. He’s also the owner of Pro Football Focus, which some of you may or may not be a fan of, but it’s his commentary during Eagles games that’s helped in developing a bad taste in the mouth of quite a few Eagles fans.

They even drew up a petition over the offseason in attempt to try to get him banned from calling Eagles games.

Oh goodness… What did he do now?

Prior to the NFL opener on NBC, Collinsworth put boot to tonsils again when he stated one of the new ‘Birds’, Michael Bennett, was unhappy being on his new team.

Here’s a quote:

"Word is Michael Bennett is none too happy with being a backup. Eight and a half sacks. He brings over three straight Pro Bowls. You can understand."

There’s no real word on where that came from, or why this is even a topic of discussion with Philly’s victory over the Atlanta Falcons being over a week old, but hey, it’s the world champs and Cris Collinsworth so there’s typically some sparks flying.

Eagles fans still upset over what was believed to be his one-sided commentary during Super Bowl LII who were present at Lincoln Financial Field wasted no time in booing him when he was spotted at ‘The Linc’.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson had this to say:

"I haven’t heard that. He’s doing well."

That’s short, sweet and, definitely, to the point. Let’s go ahead and move on from this one. Philly’s got a date in Tampa.
