Philadelphia Eagles news: Josh Adams promoted to active roster
This should make some of the Philadelphia Eagles fan base happy. Running back Josh Adams has been promoted to the active roster.
When the Philadelphia Eagles signed undrafted free agent running back Josh Adams some fanfare came along with the decision. You can blame Corey Clement for some of that.
Here’s something that everyone did, and you probably didn’t realize you were doing it. At some point during Clement’s amazing performance in Super Bowl LII, you looked at what he was doing and you thought to yourself ‘this guy wasn’t even drafted’.
Think about it. Everyone did it.
Now, every time there’s an NFL Draft and a subsequent signing of rookie free agents there will always be the hope that another ‘Corey Clement’ is in the bunch. This year, one of the names that popped out was rookie running back Josh Adams.
After all, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish is always on television, so many of us got, first hand, a loom at what Adams was capable of.
In a bit of an unexpected move, Philly adds another running back to the roster.
While many of us were debating wide receivers that the Eagles may add and talking about Carson Wentz, Philly made a move of a different kind, promoting Adams from the practice squad and saying goodbye to wide receiver DeAndre Carter.
Take a look:
There’s quite a few questions that can be birthed out of this one. Here are two. Is Jay Ajayi‘s back injury more serious than we originally expected? Are the Eagles, now, in an even more desperate position at wide out?
We thought they needed to add another one. With Carter now gone, does that mean that they should look at adding a minimum of two?
We’ll have to be patient and wait and see what happens.
